Subsection 1.5 · Checkpoint
Case theory checkpoint
Checkpoint · Module 1
You have opened the workbook and trained your eye. The Module 1 checkpoint asks for one thing: a one-sentence case theory for the roster you just opened. This is the first section of your final Campaign Roster Health Report.
Your task
Write one sentence that answers all three of these prompts:
- The unit: who are these workers and where do they work?
- The question: what does the lead organizer need to know?
- The data: which file are you starting from?
Use this template if you get stuck:
I am cleaning [the unit] so the lead organizer can answer [the question], starting from [the file].
An example sentence that passes:
I am cleaning the SEIU Local 1 janitorial roster so the lead organizer can answer whether we have 70%+ card support across the unit, starting from roster_module_2_3.csv.
You pass when your case theory has:
- A named unit (employer, local, campus, or workgroup).
- A specific organizer question (“how many” or “what percent” works well).
- A specific dataset reference.
